Tips to Maximize Your Affiliate SalesSelling affiliate products can be very profitable... (I know because that's how I make a living) but if you're not careful you could actually be driving many of your potential customers to other websites. Okay -- you've done all the work to get more visitors and you've made your website attractive, easy to use and fast-loading... so people are visiting and staying a while, now how do you get them to take the next step and buy something? The following tips can help you to maximize the full potential of your traffic. Embed Text Links Into Your Content. People surf the web for one thing; information, and they only buy from people (or companies) that they like and/or trust. People need to get that "Warm & Fuzzy Feeling" about you before they will pull out the credit card. Think of your average visitor. Why are they at your website? What problems are they trying to solve? Find out what their needs are and Help Them by giving them the information they're looking for. Think about your visitor's needs first and don't go straight to the sales pitch. By providing useful, valuable information you will establish your "credentials" as an expert -- and that goes a long ways towards gaining your visitor's trust. They will realize that your goal is to help them solve their problems, they will appreciate you for that, and they will buy from you instead of your competitors. Write your content in a personable, friendly manner. Concentrate on building relationships, not sales. Pretend that you are just sitting and talking to a friend as you write. Bottom Line? Provide valuable information, be friendly and helpful, include relevant text links to your affiliate program(s) within the content and you'll make a lot more sales. Offer An Incentive. Don't Distract Your Visitors With Too Many Offers. Avoid "hype" language and exclamation marks!! Avoid Over-Selling Your Products. Let me add this; don't fake a review. It's easier to promote a product if you actually own it because your real-life experience will show in your review. If you use someone else's review do it as if it were any other reprinted article, with your affiliate links and some of your content 'wrapped' around the article to make the page unique. Always Collect An Email Address and Follow-Up. Remember, you do not need to sell your own products to make money online, but affiliate marketing is NOT a "get rich quick" scheme. It's actually more of a "Get Rich Slow" scheme. If you commit to investing your time, a little cash for advertising, and a truck-load of effort, the rewards are there for the taking. If you put some, or all, of the tips I've written above to work you can make lots of money selling other people's products.... and you really can tell your boss "Goodbye!" To Your Success!
